Want to have a special celebration for the New Year’s Eve? Plan ahead and welcome the Year of the Horse with a bang with these awesome New Year’s Eve party suggestions!
1. Have a noisemaker contest.

Have each of the guest make their own noise and then take a video of each performance to be played later on for everyone. Vote on who wins the noisemaking contest and be sure to give a prize for the winner. The prize could be related to the contest like earplugs or earmuffs or it can be totally random like a bottle of wine or whatever you please. When midnight countdown comes, then all of you would be ready with the noise you had created earlier on!
2. Have a New Year’s resolution guessing game.

Download and print the New Year Playing Cards, have everyone fill them up then have everyone take turns in reading the cards aloud and let everyone guess who wrote the answers being read. Among the questions included in the cards are: “The bad habit I want to kick this year is ___”, “The good deed I want to do this year is ___”, “The person I want to be more like this year is ___”, “The skill I want to learn this year is ____”.
3. Let everyone bring good luck gifts.

If you can’t afford to give your guests gifts that could bring in good luck for the coming year of the horse then ask everyone to bring their own good luck gifts for everyone or ask them to just bring one gift that will be exchanged through drawing lots and assigning numbers on the gifts. Items that may bring good fortune for the new year include black eyed peas, horse shoe, lucky charms, crystals, and lucky pendants to name a few.
4. Eat grapes for good luck.

Another practice that originated in Spain which is said to bring good luck is to eat grapes at midnight. Skewer 12 grapes on a wooden stick for each guest and put it in a tall wine glass for toasting to the new year!
5. Let everyone play fortune-teller.

Ask your guests to write predictions about everyone or the world in general on a piece of paper and then put it in a bowl. You can take turns picking a paper from the bowl and reading the predictions while guessing who wrote each. You can also give out mini prizes for each correct guess.
6. Have a balloon drop.

Another festive and fun way to celebrate the New Year’s Eve is to create a balloon drop. Gather colorful balloons up in the ceiling and cover it with a big piece of cloth or paper and attach a string, then at the stroke of midnight, pull the string, let the balloons fall and wish everyone a happy new year!
7. Make noise with the bubble wrap stomp.

If you want to make additional noise for New Year’s Eve but still want everyone to be safe, unharmed and with complete fingers, then a firecracker alternative is to purchase a huge bubble wrap to spread on the floor before midnight comes and then stomp on the wrap and it will be like hearing firecrackers go off!
8. Go to a hotel party.

If you’re not up to organizing your own party at home, then just gather your family and friends and treat yourself to an eat-all-you-can midnight dinner buffet complete with live party sounds being played by a DJ. Check out this New Year’s Eve hotel party from Supreme Deals!
