Hong Kong Food Guide

Not only is it easy to go to Hong Kong from the Philippines, it's also relatively cheap! Getting there takes about an hour and a half, even shorter than travelling EDSA on rush hour. Hong Kong is known for two things: shopping and FOOD. Two things that I absolutely love! So I've decided to make a food guide for all those thinking of going there. Maybe I should throw in a shopping guide too for my next entry, what do you think? Check out 5 dishes you MUST try out when you visit Hong Kong!

1. Dim Sum

Number one on the list is dim sum. It's a staple in Chinese cuisine. And eating them in Hong Kong will surely be one of the dining experiences you'll remember!

2. Lo Mai Gai

We, Filipinos, love rice! Lo mai gai is glutinous rice, combined with chicken and pork, and wrapped in lotus leaf. It is then steamed and the end result is a flavorful, gooey packet of goodness!

3. Roast Goose

I would like to think that roast goose is the lechon of Hong Kong. Need more explanation on why you should try it?

4. Brisket Noodles

You can never go wrong with brisket and noodles. Imagine the melts-in-your-mouth meat, soft noodles and warm soup... Perfect for this rainy season!

5. Clay Pot Rice

Again, Filipinos LOVE rice! So this is definitely a must try. Rice is cooked (more of scorched) in a clay pot then toppings are added -- pork, beef, chicken, it's up to you! Then the special ingredient... the SAUCE! It makes all the difference.
